How it works

Three steps to your first session

From application to your first referral in under a week. Sessions run in your own practice, start to finish.

01
Apply & verify
Upload your license, NPI, and malpractice. We verify directly with state boards within 48 hours. No interview gauntlet, no portfolio review.
02
Set your availability & rates
List your session types with your fee — $80, $140, $300, your call — and the hours you take new couples. Share your referral link anywhere. Change any of it any week.
03
Confirm & continue in your practice
Couples book a time; you confirm within 12 hours or the slot frees up. They arrive as an anonymous prospect, you request the brief, and intake, the session, and payment all run through your own tools.
Where you fit, and where you don't

Trusted infrastructure. Built for couples.

An honest side-by-side. BetterHelp and ReGain are the cautionary tale therapists tell each other. Headway is the platform therapists actually like. Couples therapy isn't usually covered by insurance anyway, so we built Accordial to fill your cash-pay couples pipeline while everything clinical stays in your own practice.

About BetterHelp and ReGain. ReGain is BetterHelp's couples-specific brand. Same operator. Same payment model. Same controversies. Therapist pay reports across Glassdoor, ZipRecruiter, and Indeed consistently land at $30–$70 per session, with sessions capped at 45 minutes and weekly pay tiers that reset on Mondays. The platform was investigated by the FTC in 2023 for sharing user health data with Meta, Snapchat, Criteo, and Pinterest, and settled for $7.8M. Teladoc, BetterHelp's parent, took a $720M goodwill writedown on it in 2024 and reported user counts down 11% year-over-year. We mention this because we think therapists deserve to know what they're saying yes to.
About Headway. Headway is the platform most insurance-credentialed therapists name when asked which billing platform they like. We built weekly payouts and no-show protection because that's the bar Headway has set across the industry. The structural reason we exist alongside them and not against them: couples therapy isn't usually covered by insurance, so most couples pay out-of-pocket. Headway is built for the insurance system. Accordial is built for the relationship problems that don't fit it.
Economics

Keep every cent of every dollar.

You set your rate and bill it in your own practice. We never sit between you and your clients' money, so there is nothing to take a cut of. Membership is a flat $49/month — or $470/year — and the founding cohort pays nothing for their first 12 months, then keeps the $49 rate for as long as they stay.

  • No per-session fee. Same on session one, same on session one hundred: zero.
  • First year free. Founding cohort pays $0 for 12 months from signup.
  • Founding rate locked. $49/month for life while your membership stays active.
  • You own the billing. Your rates, your cancellation policy, your payment rails.

Security & ethics

Built for the way therapy actually works.

Your clients' clinical records never touch us — by architecture, not policy.

No PHI on Accordial
Intake, sessions, notes, and payment live in your own HIPAA workflow. We hold no clinical records for your clients — there is nothing here to breach.
Couples stay anonymous
Your profile is public, theirs is not. Prospects arrive as anonymous referral codes, and the brief redacts couple identifiers automatically. They share their identity with you at your own intake — never through us.
Sessions never touch us
Your sessions run in your own telehealth or office. Nothing is hosted, stored, transcribed, or trained on — because it never passes through us.
Clinical supervision
Safety flags surfaced in briefs are reviewed by an on-staff clinical director, available for consultation 24/7.
For therapists

Honest answers, plainly.

Who pays me, and when?
Your clients do, directly, through whatever billing you already use: your practice management system, your card reader, your superbills. Accordial never sits in the payment, never holds your money, and never takes a per-session fee. The only thing you ever pay us is the flat membership, and the founding cohort pays nothing for the first year.
Is this group practice or am I a 1099 contractor?
You're an independent provider. We are a marketplace, not your employer. You set your rate, choose your hours, work with whichever couples you accept, and can take your panel elsewhere any time.
Do I have to do any intake paperwork?
You run your own intake in your own practice, but the pre-session brief does the heavy lifting before it. By the time you open a new couple's file, you already have months of context: recurring themes, each partner's framing of the same fights, resolution patterns, and a heat index. You walk in already in session two.
What about insurance?
Entirely your call, because billing happens in your practice. Take insurance, stay cash-pay, generate superbills: whatever your existing setup does. Accordial is just the pipeline that brings the couple to your door with context.
How does the AI brief actually work?
When a couple books you, they choose whether to allow a brief. You request it from your portal with one click, and we generate it on demand from their anonymised written exchanges in our app — what they've been venting about, what they've been appreciating, what keeps recurring. The model never sees identifying information; you never see raw transcripts. The brief is a working document, not a clinical record.
What if a brief surfaces something high-acuity?
Safety flags in the brief are reviewed by our clinical director, who is available for consultation and can help with referral. We keep a vetted list of in-network and pro-bono partners by state. What happens inside your sessions is governed by your own license and judgment.
Are my conversations with couples confidential?
They never touch us. Sessions run in your own telehealth or office under your own confidentiality and consent terms. Your notes live in your own records. A subpoena aimed at Accordial would find no session content, no intake, no client identity, and no payment record, because we deliberately hold none of it.
Can I leave?
Any time. Cancel your membership, deactivate your profile, and you're out. Your clients and their records were always in your own practice, so there is nothing to export and nothing we keep. No exclusivity clause, no notice period, no clawback.
